General Information:
Base jackpot is at least 100% of paid entries. Top 5 places paid for individual heaviest qualifying fish including releases. Minimum weights: Marlin - 150, Spear/Sail - 25, Ahi - 20, Mahi - 20, Ono - 20, Aku - 20. Released Marlin - 100 points, released Spear/Sail - 20 points. No team can win more than one base entry jackpot prize.
No line class, leasder or bait restrictions. Birds up to 12" are OK. No bang sticks, guns, handlining or assistance with the fight is allowed. Complete rules are linked below.
Ho'ole'a is part of the Maui Jim Hawaii Marlin Tournament Series. Subject to additional rules, participation, fish and winnings count towards the series championship at South Point in November.
All participants receive a complimentary membership with the IGFA. Tournament winner receives invite to 2001 Rolex/IGFA Int'l Tournament of Champions in Kona.
Largest qualifying Ahi wins free entry into 2001 Ahi Fever, and highest total weight wins free entry to 2001 Hana Pa'a.
All team captains or a designated team member must attend skipper's briefing on Friday, September 1st.
Base Entry: $375 (Entries received by 8/5/00 receive 4 free t-shirts and 4 banquet tickets. After 8/5/00 shirts and tickets are extra.) Deadline to enter, complete with full payment, is the conclusion of the skipper's briefing on September 1, 2000. No refunds will be made after this time.
