Eight boats entered the 2000 Wahine Invitational, 4 power boats and 4 sail boats.  This one day event produced alot of fun for the anglers and crew, especially for the crew of Na Moelepo who came in an hour late because they were having so much fun dancing on the back of the boat, but not much fish.  The winning fish in the Power Division was a 25.5 lb Mahi caught by Nora Shelton on Akele.  Nora also brought in a 20.5 lb Mahi.  The winning fish in the Sail Division was a 13.5 lb Mahi caught by Crispin Mulligan on Kolohe.   Each boat won a $150 gift certificate....that's over $11 per pound for Kolohe's fish...not bad for a fun day on the water.
