PURE JACKPOT TOURNAMENT – SATURDAY, APRIL 14, 2001

Over $20,000 in cash prizes based on 125 entries
Deadline to enter - Captain’s Briefing at Keehi Boat Club, 6 PM, April 13, 2001 Information & entry blanks available at Keehi Boat Club, 841-7271

Feel like catching fish and winning money at the same time? You could be lucky enough to do just that by joining Keehi Boat Club’s first fishing tournament of the year. With over $20,000 (Based on 125 entries) in cash prizes, you won’t want to miss this year’s Pure Jackpot fishing tournament to be held on Saturday, April 14, 2001. Remember last year’s Pure Jackpot Millenium tournaments? If you don’t, read on to see what you missed.

This year, we may be lucky enough to have results like the Pure Jackpot Millennium-1 tournament held on April 15, 2000. "Randy Ann" captain Randy Silva weighed in the winning fish, a huge 475 lb. marlin. Second place was a tie between "Su-u-lyn" captain Kurt Uehara and "Tammy Y" captain Craig Yamada who both weighed in 32 lb. Mahimahis. In all, 1 Marlin, 50 Mahimahis, 9 Onos, 6 Akus and 3 Shibies were weighed in. Many more fish were caught but not weighed in. It was a great day of fishing!

If we’re really lucky, we may see the Ahis that won the Pure Jackpot Millennium-2 tournament held on June 3rd. Two lucky captains managed to catch the elusive fish. Captain Water Thoemmes on the Palenaka won the tournament with a 139.1 lb. Ahi and Captain Fred Kaya on the Hana Pa’a Hawaii took second with a 110.3 lb. Ahi. Here’s hoping!

Mahalo to the captains that participated in our Pure Jackpot Millennium tournaments. This year, we guarantee that every winning fish will be worth more than the entry fee. If there are less than 35 entries in this tournament, we will reduce the number of prizes so that the remaining cash prizes become larger. Also, unawarded prizes will be redistributed to the winners. We are also planning to have our usual "fish of the day" and "most flag fish" optional side jackpots which returns 100% of the $25 entry fee. We hope that these changes benefit you and that we’ll see you at the Pure Jackpot tournament.

As usual, the Pure Jackpot tournament will be a no nonsense, no frills, and no "huhu" jackpot fishing tournament. Based on 125 entries there will be fourteen (14) ways to win over $20,000 in cash prizes. Special prizes may be announced such as the special white wash drawing prize of free entry to the next Pure Jackpot tournament.

Your copy of the Rules, Application and Waver forms is enclosed. Get your entry in now and before you know it, you’ll hear "Start-fishing" on the CB radio.

KBC will still be hosting our annual Wahine & Jackpot tournaments in the last week of September and the first week of October. Be on the lookout for these fun tournaments also.

We hope you will be joining us in this fun and challenging fishing tournament. If you have any questions please call KBC at 841-7271.
